Which Makeup Remover Is The Best?
Which Makeup Remover Is The Best?
We put the Face Halo, the Clinique Cleansing Balm, Neutrogena Makeup Remover wipes, and the Urban Decay Makeup Remover Dissolving Spray to the test to see which one removes makeup the best. We used the different makeup removers on the exact same makeup look to see how effective they are at not only removing the makeup but also how they leave the skin after use. All of the makeup removers are critiqued on makeup removal, how easy they are to use, and price. At the end, we reveal which product came out on top as winner and which were big disappointments.

Which Makeup Remover Is The Best?
0:10 SHE TRANSFORMED INTO A RACOON U HAVE LIED TO US ALL ALONG NICOLE FINALLY WE HAVE SEEN UR TRUE COLORS!
Edit : btw who else feels bad that she kept having to put on the makeup over and over again
….but you didnt check to see if there was still makeup residue, after you cleaned your face…. wasted test.
The Ordinary’s Squalane Cleanser.
Urban decay—spray on a cotton ball. That was a lot of product on your face LOL.
I use Clinique "Take the day off" and is fantastic but way too expensive.
Personal opinion from someone who uses the Clinique Cleansing Balm and the Face Halo (
yes, that exact brand actually) for the past couple years.
However, Clinique’s cleansing balm literally melts off waterproof mascara. It only takes a tiny bit. A small travel size jar lasts me several months, easily. Yes, it does suck getting some of the oil in your eye. I’m usually prepared with something to wipe off with around my eyes, to minimize how much gets into my eyes.
I only wear eye makeup. Eyeliner, and mascara mostly. Eyeshadow fairly often.
I have extremely long natural lashes (thank you genetics) and have a daily eyelash care routine.
Clinique Cleansing Balm:
This is hands down the best cleansing balm on the market. I have tried a number of cleansing balms. I have been a Clinique consumer since high school. Tried and true brand, in my opinion. Over the years I haven’t stuck with a lot of their overall products, mostly due to cost. Just stuck with the staples I absolutely needed that worked for my skin type. Anyway. During the summer, I usually wear waterproof mascara and eyeliner. Personally, waterproof formulas are harder to get off and I have to scrub to remove it. Which I am absolutely not a fan of, because it results in a lot of lash fallout. And I have to grow those suckers back on my eyelids
Note – I price shop for this cleansing balm to make it affordable for me. Google search helps. Trustworthy second hand apps/sites like Mercari and Poshmark often have these types of products new, at cheap prices or bundled cheap prices.
Face Halo:
I bought these a few years ago and YES they are amazing. I’m sure there are other brands that work just as well. I just happened to buy these and love them. I use them for toner, (non-waterproof) makeup removal and even in the shower with my facial soap. Pro-tip – If you use Clinique’s (or any) cleansing balm, have one of these micro fiber makeup removers handy to instantly wipe off excess before opening your eyes. Voila!
Girl just use Ponds!$5 and better than that expensive ass balm
I can see your face halo face halo face halo I can see your face haloooooo
If you wear makeup, always choose an oil based cleanser.
The best makeup remover is coconut oil !! Try it
I stand by Clinique Take The Day Off. It removes everything and a little goes a long way.
You need to try body shop camomile butter if not in uk I can get it for you I’m a body shop consultant
I personally recommend the pond’s makeup remover balm
I’m aware that this video is 2 years old, but it just bothered me that she did not wash her face with a cleanser after the oil-based makeup removers. That’s the proper way to use them.
Makeup wipes destroyed my skin
I use the Clinique and Makeup Eraser together.
Double cleanse like susan yara.
Lancome take the day off makeup remover is the best nothing out there can compare to it!
Cetaphil gentle makep remover works the best for me
i just kinda attack my face with a microfiber pad and some micellar water and call it a day lmao
In Mexico, we have a cleansing cream from the brand "Teatrical". It’s literally a makeup removing moisturizer, I use it every day I wear makeup and I find it to be quite lovely. I start grabbing a bit on my fingers and work it into my skin, then I add a little water so it can become milky and easier to remove makeup. After, I rinse my face to remove the cream, then with a cotton pad soaked in micellar water, I remove the rest (I do this because I feel cleaner lol), then I use my pond’s facial soap. It’s been my routine for more than a year and it works wonders for me. Yes, it takes quite a long time but it’s great!
I’ve never commented on any of ur videos but girrrrlll
i need to thank u for this one from the bottom of my heart… I was soo confused between microfiber pad thing and cleansing balm… Cz makeup remover and cleanser isn’t enough.. thnxx

I know this is 2yrs old, so I hope by now she has realized that wipes and the face halo alone doesn’t remove all makeup. Always, always, ALWAYS DOUBLE CLEANSE!
my eyes hurt after im done with makeup and it burns when after i remove makeup. seeing her do it 4 times in a row just made me cry
Extra virgin coconut oil will act the same as the balm’s or oil sprays for a lot cheaper! You’ll still get oily eyes though but it’s way better on your skin than those expensive products. You will still have to cleanse afterwards but it’s cheap and fast. I highly doubt that halo pad is actually cleansing so I’m sure you should be cleansing anyway after using it.
Omg your poor face. This is why I decided against trying for a beauty editor position for a bit channel like this. They deff should have let you do this over four days or even two. This is way too much for your skin. As an esthetician I never ever recommend applying makeup more than once a day. Great video though
Why you did make up four times like, you could have done it two times only. Means half side you could remove with one product and second side you can test with another…. Anyways thanks for the struggle
The fact she is doing a makeup removal video while wearing a white shirt?

Omg girl.
5:49 This is not a setting spray, spray onto a cotton ball
I had that Urban decay spray. It was quite effective at removing makeup. But it was super messy. It’s a spray so it got all over my hair. I would only use it if am gonna take a shower lol. But I hated it so much that I seldom used it. Balms are the best.
The makeup remover balm by the body shop is better than the clinique one. And microfiber towels with micella water works better and quicker than just water
The best makeup remover is coconut oil !! Try it
For those who are broke like me and can’t afford Clinique, you can buy a cheaper yet effective cleansing balms like Heimish (120ml) or Banila Co (100ml) for around US $12-16
Young people, especially Americans, need to realize how good Clinique is
Don’t forget y’all that this is a make-up REMOVING step but not a cleansing step so always follow with another cleanser (before moisturising) at night to make sure you don’t sleep with any residue!!

clinique balm dupe: good molecules balm
Nothing beats cold cream for makeup removal.
Why dint you try a micellar water. That’s my favourite way
You’ll get better results with the balm if you emulsifier it first before rinsing. Just wet your hands and massage it through, it should turn milky in colour. Follow with a second cleanse using a face wash for a fresh and clean canvas fo all your skincare!
Also I think you’d have a different opinion if you’d used waterproof make up and sunscreen. The oil balm would win hands down. Instead of forking out for the Halo, you’ll get similar results from any cheap microfibre facecloth which I’ve seen for super cheap. Btw microfibre is plastic so not exactly good for the environment either, micro plastics and non biodegradable etc.
this video shouldve been filmed in 4 separate days
Hyram say no to makeup wipe
Wet n Wild Eye Makeup Remover Micellar Cleansing Water = THE best. The package alone is the best Ive ever had and the product itself is one swipe and gone. Never had anything like this! Also use it with a reusable pad so theres no environmental trace.
I use coconut oil and It does wonder on my skin. But I have combined skin ( oily and dry at the time ) I have to take off the extra oil with a cleanser or a micellar water.
Basin Boy
Ponds cold cream make up remover has been the best for me and not harsh. Easily gets off oil based make up and eye liner.
A cheap and easy DIY makeup remover that functions like the Clinique balm:
Any oil (coconut, olive, sweet almond, grape seed, etc. Some work better for certain skin types than other)
A bit of castor oil (has some surfactant properties)
And an emulsifier.
Sweetbeeandme has a recipe on her website and tutorial on YT. I’m certain there will be all kinds of other tutorials on YT too!
Ponds has a cold cream that’s much cheaper than the Clinque cleansing balm and does the same thing. There’s also cleansing oils made by La Roche Posay, Simple, and K-Beauty brands that are made with emulsifiers so that they’re easy to get off your face with water if DIY isn’t your thing!
2:13 I will just keep using the same wipe as long as it’s wet
Stop with makeup wipes! The last spray you used as you should be doing with all of these is to use the melting balm or the urban decay spray and rub with your rings gently around the eyes and face and then rinse with water and then go in with a gentle cleanser. You are doing this very wrong and need to learn how to use these products and stop using those makeup wipes because those do not clean your face, they leave makeup in your pores and residue all over your face plus they can cause premature wrinkles because all you are doing is tugging at your skin and eyes.
Ans: coconut oil
Purity Made Simple cleanser by Philosophy is THE best makeup remover & even removes waterproof mascara without stinging.
